Nvidia’s Jensen Huang Deepens Ties with Samsung and Hyundai Amid AI Expansion
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang met with Samsung's Jay Y. Lee and Hyundai's Euisun Chung in Seoul, signaling strengthened partnerships as the chipmaker expands its AI footprint across Asia. The discussions come amid escalating U.S.-China tensions over semiconductor exports, though Huang avoided direct commentary on geopolitical matters.
The executives dined at Kkanbu Chicken in Gangnam, a locale famous for corporate gatherings, sharing chimaek—South Korea's quintessential fried chicken and beer pairing. The restaurant's name, meaning 'trusted partner,' carried symbolic weight given Nvidia's growing collaborations in the region.
Huang confirmed upcoming announcements with South Korea and a planned meeting with President Lee Jae Myung. When asked about U.S.-China talks involving Nvidia's restricted Blackwell AI chips, he maintained diplomatic distance: 'I have every confidence the two presidents had a very good conversation. It doesn't have to involve anything that I do.'
